Dr Darko Bozic

Dr Darko Božić, DMD, MSc, PhD is an assistant professor at the Department of Periodontology, School of Dental Medicine, University of Zagreb, Croatia.

Since 2006 his main research focus is how to use growth factors to restore lost periodontal tissues with a special emphasis on cementoblast biology and BMP-7. His research team has done proteomic and next generation sequencing analysis of BMP-7 treated cementoblasts with the aim of developing new regenerative strategies. Furtheremore, proteomic analysis of periodontal tissues of patients with aggressive and chronic periodontitis is under way.

His main clinical focus is regenerative and periodontal plastic surgery arround teeth and implants. He frequently gives courses and workshops both at home and internationally about the microsurgical approaches in implant, regenerative and periodontal plastic sugery.

He is the Vice-president of the Croatian Society of Periodontology and delegate to the European Federation of Periodontology (EFP). He is also a member of the IADR.
